HEYCAT

Web design

HEYCAT homepage: Come in. The cats are expecting you, beside a tray of coffees and iced drinks.
01 Definition

A cat café in Hydra where the cats are the hosts and the coffee is the reason to stay.

Client
HEYCAT coffee shop
Year
2026
Sector
Café, Hydra, Algiers
Role
Web design, copywriting, visuals
02 Challenge

People loved the place. Online, nothing showed why.

Underneath it

/01

The cats are the reason to come

A menu list and a map pin can't show them. People need to see the cats before they come.

/02

The proof was somewhere else

More than 1,000 Google reviews, and none of them working on the café's own page.

/03

Where and when, fast

Hydra, 08:00 to midnight. The answer people look for first has to be easy to find.

Who comes

Families, friends, people alone, visitors to Algiers.

The reviews say it: four kids and three adults on one table, a birthday, someone who comes back every time they are in Algiers, someone who comes alone because nobody bothers you. The site talks to all of them with the same invitation.

03 Goal

Make people feel the place before they walk in.

04 Approach

The page follows a visit.

You are invited in, you look around, you meet the hosts, you order, you find the door, and you read what other guests said.

/01Come in

The welcome line and a tray of drinks. No menu, no prices, just the invitation.

/02Look around

The room, the coffee, the details, coming in one by one as you scroll.

/03Meet the hosts

Each cat with a name, a year of birth and a card of its own.

/04Order

Best choices, one drink at a time, with a line on how it tastes.

/05Find us

Hydra on the map and the hours, from 08:00 to midnight.

/06Hear the guests

1,000+ reviews. The cats take all the credit.

Scroll section: photos of the room, the coffee machine and latte art come in one by one around the page.
05 Decisions

Three calls.

01

Open with an invitation

“Come in. The cats are expecting you.” The first screen sells the feeling, not the menu. The menu comes later, when you already want to go.

02

The cats are hosts

They are not decoration in the photos. Each one gets a profile, like a member of the team. People come back for a cat by name.

03

Let the guests talk

The café already had the best copy: its reviews. Real names, real months, on a wall that keeps moving. “The cats take all the credit.”

06 Solution

Warm, quiet, a little funny.

Cream and soft grey like the room, a brown taken from the coffee, a peach that only shows up around the drinks.

Your Hosts: five cat cards in a row, the middle one in focus.

Colour

Five colours. The two light ones carry the page, the dark ones carry the words.

Typography

Fraunces for the lines you read out loud, soft and a bit old fashioned, like a café sign. Satoshi for everything you just need to know: hours, names, dates.

Best choices: the Matcha drink in a peach star, with the drinks before and after it on each side.
